Well here we are, the end of the school year - ALREADY!!  Where does the time go?  We, the staff, have really enjoyed working with the children this past year-the children have just been great!  We hope that all of you have a wonderful summer and we look forward to working with the returning children  and siblings next year.

We would also like to wish our Kindergarten children all the best as they enter grade school.  We will all miss them!

Our theme this month is still ZOO ANIMALS.  The children are enjoying learning about the different animals.

The children are just fascinated with our caterpillars that we had in the classroom that have now changed into butterflies.  The children are learning about the life cycles of butterflies.

SCHOLASTIC JUNE BOOK ORDER

Please note that the deadline for June’s book order is Wednesday, June 9th.  It is earlier this month so that the books can arrive before school is out for the year.  If they happen to arrive after June 23rd , then Mrs. Javer will call you and you can come pick them up from the school.  A  big thanks to all the parents who participated in ordering books this year.  We were able to collect many free books for the classroom.

GARDEN BOX                 C:\Documents and Settings\TinyT\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\LIUI8EW0\MPj04307380000[1].jpg

We are hoping to plant our garden at school sometime at the beginning of June.  We will have some peas, carrots, zucchini and pumpkin seeds planted.  If you would like to donate some flowers for the children to also plant in our garden, that would be appreciated.  Feel free to pop by in the summer to see how the garden is coming along.  We will leave a watering can in the backyard for children to water the garden in the summer time if they are around the school.  Since we now have things growing in the box, please see that children are not stepping in the box when they are outside playing.  THANKS!

MMj03547460000[1]SCHOOL PICNIC

We will be holding our annual School Picnic on Wednesday, June 23rd at the Cochrane Ran che Park (Just off highway 1A) from 11:00am-1:00pm.   Miss Loosie, who is semi-retired will be attending and doing a show for us again this year.   She will do a magic show, play some picnic games, and have some play centers for us.  Last year, Miss Loosie was upset because some children broke her bubble wands.  To prevent this occurrence from happening again, please diligently watch over your children.

The picnic will be a pot-luck event and signup sheets will be posted on the bulletin board.  We will be eating in the same area as we do every year but will be playing our games near the Corrals.

The school picnic is a time for everyone at the school to get together and enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed environment before the summer holidays.  So parents, bring a picnic blanket and some outdoor equipment for your child(ren) to enjoy at the Park and just have FUN!!  If the weather is bad (raining or low & behold snowing!) the event will unfortunately have to be canceled.

SEPTEMBER START UP

A)  Starting September, Mrs. Javer will be doing the administration work in the office and not teaching in the classroom.  However, she won’t be gone from the classroom completely as she will be taking on doing Special Projects with the Kg children.  We are excited that Mrs. Taylor, who has been teaching in the pm class for a number of years now, will be taking over the morning class.  The children in the am class all know Mrs. Taylor and so we are expecting that the transition will be a smooth one.

B)  Letters will be mailed out to all returning parents sometime during the first week of August confirming registration and dates for the 1st day of school for your child in September.  Therefore, if there are any changes in address, phone numbers, etc. please let Mrs. Javer know ASAP.

t         The 1st day of school for returning children is  Tues. Sept. 7th

t         The 1st day of school for new children/siblings will be confirmed in Augusts’ letter.  Please note that we have staggered entry dates for new children.
